Kidney cancer

Kidney cancer, also called renal cancer, is a disease caused by cells growing abnormally and out of control in the kidney. The most common type of kidney cancer is Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC).

Kidney cancer is often discovered at an early stage, when it is small and confined to the kidney. If the cancer is diagnosed and treated before it has spread outside of the kidney, it can be completely cured.

At URODOC, our team is highly experienced in the treatment and management of kidney cancer. We offer a range of treatment options, including nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy, which can be performed with minimally invasive laparoscopic (keyhole) or robotic surgery.

Urinary stones

Kidney stones, also called renal calculi, are hard crystals that form in the kidney from salts and minerals in the urine. Kidney stones can affect any part of the urinary tract, from the kidneys to the bladder.

The extreme pain associated with kidney stones occurs when the stone begins to move around within the kidney or passes into the ureters (the tubes connecting the kidney to the bladder). Pain from a kidney stone may change, such as location and intensity, as the stone moves through the urinary tract.

Timely diagnosis and intervention is important in the management of kidney stones. If not treated, these stones can lead to kidney infections, or swelling and injury of the kidney.

At URODOC, our team has extensive experience in the treatment and prevention of kidney stones. We offer a range of state of the art treatments, including ureteroscopy,(laser stone surgery), minimally invasive percutaneous surgery and shockwave lithotripsy.
