A hernia repair may be recommended for inguinal hernias that are large or uncomfortable. If left untreated, they are unlikely to resolve by themselves and tend to increase in size over time.
Surgical repair of a hernia involves reducing the protruding tissue and strengthening the weakness in the muscle wall with a mesh. Hernia repair can be carried out as an open surgery or with a keyhole (laparoscopic) approach depending on size and complexity of the hernia.
At URODOC, our team is highly experienced in the treatment of inguinal hernias and offers both open and keyhole hernia repair.
